Dayuan Officially Begins Metal Surface Painting Services

Metal surface painting is a method of protecting metals from oxidation and corrosion. The corrosion phenomenon that occurs around us refers to the damage, performance degradation, or deterioration of various materials under the combined effects of chemical, electrochemical, and several physical factors in the environment. Spraying paint on metal surfaces is an important means of maintaining metal corrosion resistance. A good spray painting protective layer maintains continuity, integrity, and good adhesion, which can become a barrier to inhibit the invasion of corrosive media.

Importance

Due to corrosion being an irreversible spontaneous process, even high-quality spray paint coatings are difficult to protect metals from corrosion, especially when the metal surface is poorly bonded, damaged, or has defects such as pinholes, bubbles, cracks, and peeling. The protective effect of the spray paint coating will be greatly reduced, and even lead to the aggravation of metal corrosion. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully analyze the factors of metal corrosion in spray painting and take effective measures to prevent it.

Corrosion Mechanism of Metal in Spray Painting And Painting

Generally speaking, the corrosion of metals is the result of multiple factors working together, and one of these factors plays an important role in the corrosion process. The metal surface is sprayed with paint to form a coating protective layer, and the area where the metal undergoes corrosion is at the interface between the coating film and the metal surface, continuously eroding and expanding towards the depth of the metal substrate.

If the paint coating on the metal surface can effectively isolate the penetration of water, oxygen, electrons, stray ions, etc., it can greatly slow down or avoid the corrosion of the coated metal. If the isolation effect is poor, the anti-corrosion and anti-corrosion protection of the paint retention layer on the metal will be poor. Production practice has shown that the penetration rate of spray painting protective layer to water seriously affects the adhesion of metal spray painting surface, while the penetration rate of oxygen greatly affects the corrosion performance of metals. The corrosion forms of metal in spray painting are diverse, but the root cause of corrosion is closely related to chemical and

electrochemical reactions.

Sheet metal spray painting is a common surface treatment process used to provide the aesthetic and protective properties of sheet metal products. The following is the general sheet metal painting process:

1. Surface preparation:

-Firstly, prepare the surface of sheet metal products, including removing oil stains, rust, and old paint.

-Use appropriate tools and methods, such as sandpaper, sandblasting machine, or chemical cleaning agents, to clean and polish the surface of sheet metal, ensuring a smooth and clean surface.

2. Spray primer:

-After surface preparation, spray primer. Primer helps provide good adhesion and corrosion protection.

-The selection of primer should be based on specific requirements and painting system to ensure compatibility with sheet metal materials and upper layer coatings.

3. Sanding:

-After the primer dries, perform sanding treatment. Sanding can smooth the surface, remove unevenness, bubbles, and defects.

-Use fine sandpaper or other suitable sanding tools to gently polish the surface to make it smooth and even.

4. Spray topcoat:

-After sanding, spray the topcoat. Topcoat is the coating that determines the final appearance and color.

-According to the requirements, use a spray gun or other spraying equipment to evenly spray the topcoat. Multiple layers of spraying can be carried out, and appropriate drying time is required between each layer.

5. Drying and Curing:

-After completing the spraying, place the sheet metal products in a well ventilated drying room or oven for the paint film to dry and cure.

-Determine the drying and curing time and temperature based on the type of coating used and the manufacturer's recommendations.

6. Polishing and Dressing:

-After drying and curing, polish and trim. This can further improve the smoothness and glossiness of the surface.

-Use appropriate polishing tools and materials to polish and trim the sprayed surface to meet the required quality standards.

7. Inspection and quality control:

-Conduct final inspection and quality control to ensure that the sprayed surface is free of defects, bubbles, scratches, and other issues.

-If necessary, repair and repair until the required quality standards are achieved.

The above is a general sheet metal spray painting process, and the specific process may vary depending on factors such as paint type, sheet metal materials, and requirements. When conducting sheet metal painting, the paint manufacturer's recommendations and safety operating procedures should be followed, and the operation should be carried out in an appropriate environment and equipment.
