Evaporation is the physical process of transforming liquid into gas. Generally speaking, an evaporator is an object that converts liquid matter into a gaseous state.

There are a large number of evaporators in industry, among which the evaporator used in refrigeration systems is one of them. The evaporator is an important component among the four major components of refrigeration. The low-temperature condensed liquid exchanges heat with the outside air through the evaporator, vaporizes and absorbs heat, achieving the effect of refrigeration.

The evaporator mainly consists of a heating chamber and an evaporation chamber. The heating chamber provides the heat required for evaporation to the liquid, promoting its boiling and vaporization; The evaporation chamber completely separates the gas-liquid phases.

Evaporators are divided into three types according to operating pressure: atmospheric pressure, pressurized pressure, and depressurized pressure. According to the movement of the solution in the evaporator, it can be divided into:

① Circular type. Boiling solution passes through the heating surface multiple times in the heating chamber, such as central circulation tube type, hanging basket type, external heating type, Levin type, and forced circulation type.

② One way type. Boiling solution passes through the heating surface in a heating chamber at once without circulating flow, and the concentrated solution is discharged, such as rising film, falling film, stirring film, and centrifugal film.

③ Direct contact type. The heating medium directly contacts the solution for heat transfer, such as an immersed combustion evaporator. During the operation of the evaporation device, a large amount of heating steam needs to be consumed. To save heating steam, a multi effect evaporation device and a steam re compression evaporator can be used. Evaporators are widely used in chemical, light industry and other sectors.
